About the Client

My client is the air transport industry's IT provider, delivering solutions for airlines, airports, aircraft and governments. Their technology powers more seamless, safe and sustainable air travel.

They are looking to hire an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join on a contract basis.

About the Role

Using the Infrastructure as Code principles, you will participate in our client's infrastructure automation project to manage their constantly growing fleet of machines and services.

They operate their own private cloud infrastructure, which is distributed across multiple data centres. This infrastructure, built primarily with open-source technology.

You will manage the infrastructure and contribute to its development, security, and reliability.

**Key Duties**:

- Contribute to Linux systems and manage their life cycle
- Monitor, maintain, scale, and optimize infrastructure services
- Perform analysis for troubleshooting and incident response
- Support infrastructure teams and company projects
- Keep the infrastructure aligned with the highest security standards
- Contribute to the on-call rotation
- Be part of our DevOps strategy

What we are looking for

**Required Knowledge and Experience**:

- Extensive Experience in administering RedHat-based systems in Production environments
- Strong Experience in supporting virtual and physical Servers, using the infrastructure as a code approach
- Be an advanced scriptwriter (bash, python, or Perl)
- Strong Experience in deploying production changes, setting up and maintaining monitoring to stick to SLO targets.
- Experience configuring and managing various Linux software (PostgreSQL databases, HAProxy, Nginx/Apache, bind, iptables, cronjob, Veeam backup...)
- Experience with microservice (Docker, Kubernetes, helm)
- Good knowledge of basic networking concepts, such as routing, nating, access list, VPN
- Experience of driving infrastructure projects (architecture, sizing, technology advice, high availability concerns) that require the involvement of other teams
- Experiences with basic ITIL principles (change, problem, incident management) and a ticketing tool
- Good English communication skills in a multicultural environment
