**Safety Laboratory Supervisor**
**Job Purpose/Summary**
The Safety Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for effective delivery of laboratory services and maintaining QA/QC compliance with applicable regulations (CUA and CAP), as well as the oversight of testing personnel.
**What You’ll Do**
- Verify the test procedures performed and establish the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system
- Enrollment and participation in an HHS approved proficiency testing (PT) program to commensurate with the services offered
- Ensure that:
- PT samples are tested in accordance with the CLIA requirements
- PT results are returned within the time frames established _by _the PT program
- PT reports are reviewed by the appropriate staff
- Corrective action plans are followed when PT results are found to be unacceptable or unsatisfactory
- Establish a quality control program appropriate for the tests performed, and establish the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance
- Ensurer that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results
- Resolve technical problems and ensuring that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
- Ensure that test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly
- Identify training needs and assure that each individual performing tests, receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed
- Evaluate the competency of all testing personnel and assuring that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately, and proficiently
- Assist in the development of an aooroved procedure manual for all personnel
**What You Bring**
- Bachelor's degree in a science or health-related field (chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology)
- Two+ years' experience of nonwaived testing in the specialties of clinical chemistry and immunology
- Experience in quality management in a high complexity clinical laboratory
- 2+ years of supervisory experience, including laboratory personnel and equipment
