**Job Overview and Responsibilities**: Are you passionate about unraveling the mysteries of global trade data? Do you thrive on building innovative solutions that extract valuable insights from vast datasets? We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving our competitive advantage through the creative use of publicly available data. Responsibilities include: - Utilize your creativity to uncover and extract valuable insights from Global Trade data. - Develop and maintain scalable ETL pipelines for complex transformations over large-scale datasets. - Collaborate with stakeholders across Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to address data-related technical issues and support their needs. - Lead the implementation of industry-standard best practices in data engineering. **Required Skills and Experiences**: - 5+ years of experience managing, analyzing, and processing large volumes of sparsely structured data. - 2-3 years of experience in team leadership. - Proficiency in designing and building data warehouses and associated topologies. - Strong experience with Relational, Non-Relational, and Columnar Databases. - Innovative thinking to provide unique insights using publicly available data. - Background in Statistical Analysis. - Ability to effectively communicate with management and cross-functional teams. - Positive "Can do" attitude with high attention to detail. - Experience with cloud-based data tools, particularly AWS. - Proficiency in SQL, RedShift, Spark, and Elasticsearch. - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. - Intrinsic motivation to succeed and continuously improve. - Creative problem-solving skills. **Preferred Skills and Experiences**: - Experience with Hadoop is a plus. - Basic understanding of statistics and probability. - Generous leave benefits including 14 Vacation Leave, 14 Sick Leave, and 5 Emergency Leave days. - Annual Merit Increase and Milestone Bonus based on performance. - Weekends off and Philippines holidays observed. - Provision of a laptop for Philippines-based employees.
