**Postdoc position in Molecular Imaging to develop new**

**radiopharmaceuticals**

**Research project**

Immuno-PET agents for in vivo imaging tumours has encountered significant challenges for the development

of cell tracking agents or tracers for the 3D identification of the expression of specific biological targets in the

whole tumour. Thus, biopsies will be avoided, eliminating its limitations and problems. Both uses of

radiopharmaceuticals improve the development of immunotherapies and advances therapies mainly focused

on cellular therapy (CAR-T). We would like to develop agents for CAR-T tracking as well as for the diagnosis

of specific phenotipes of glioblastoma and gastrointestinal cancer. In addition to the development of the

diagnostic agents, we will perform exchange the diagnostic isotope for a therapeutic isotope in order to set a

theragnostic agent to diagnose and treat glioblastoma or gastrointestinal cancers, an emergent field.

Immuno-PET agents for in vivo tumor imaging have faced significant challenges as cell tracking agents or

tracers for 3D identification of the expression of specific biological targets in complete tumor. This will avoid

biopsies, eliminating their limitations such as obtaining limited information about the tumor and its

heterogeneity (less than 5% in most cases); poor condition of the sample to be analyzed, and problems such

as increases in healthcare costs or side effects caused to patients. Furthermore, both uses of

radiopharmaceuticals improve the development of immunotherapies and advance therapies focused mainly

on cell therapy (CAR-T). We would like to develop agents for CAR-T monitoring as well as for the diagnosis of

specific glioblastoma and gastrointestinal cancer phenotypes. In addition to the development of diagnostic

agents, we will perform diagnostic isotope exchange for a therapeutic one in order to establish a theragnostic

agent to diagnose and treat glioblastoma or gastrointestinal cancers at the same time, an emerging field.

**Job position description**

The applicant will work on the development of new immune-PET agents using preclinical models***

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required**:

- PhD in life sciences (Medicine, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy)
- English and Spanish/Catalan

**Desired**:

- License to work in ionizing radiation facilities (supervisor or operator)
- License for animal handling (FELASA or similar)

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required**:

- Knowledge of translational research
- Experience on drug discovery and development

**Desired**
- Experience in molecular biology and histology techniques (e.g. Western blotting, IHC, ELISA, cell culture, etc.).
- Familiar to work with rodent
