A Project Manager is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. This is a senior role that requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously. Projects will be any in the company portfolio : RF units for Telecom satellites, Units devoted to communicate and control the satellites, Digital on board processing units, Ground segment for spacecraft control and associated tests means.
**Project Manager roles and responsibilities**
As a role that focuses on completing a project as efficiently and promptly as possible, we expect the following duties and responsibilities to be carried out:
- Ensuring projects meet costs & deadlines
- Managing project progress and adapt work as required
- Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Leading risk & opportunities identification all along the program
- Designing risk mitigation plan. Securing opportunities when initiating new projects
- Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff
- Coordinating staff and internal resources
- Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation
- Managing large and diverse teams
- Leading project planning sessions
- Optimising and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary
- Participating in tender process i.e. design, submission and review
**Project Manager qualification and requirements**
A great Project Manager usually has five or more years’ experience, and one or several formal qualifications in any of the following fields:
- Engineering
- Business or Business Administration
- Management
- Written and verbal communication skills (English compulsory, other languages would be a plus)
- Capacity to manage high stress situations
- Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
- Leadership skills
- Big-picture thinking and vision
- Conflict resolution skills
- Attention to detail
- Financial basics
