**The Opportunity**

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a senior engineering leader to influence the strategic direction, technical excellence, and operational effectiveness of a large engineering organization—without direct people management responsibilities.

You will play a key role in mentoring and guiding engineering leaders, shaping leadership practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and aligned execution. By partnering closely with Product and cross-functional stakeholders (Data, Product, Business, Operations and C-Levels), you will ensure engineering efforts are strategically aligned and deliver meaningful business value.

You’ll also drive the evolution of technical architecture, champion high standards for engineering excellence, and promote best practices in system design, security, and operational maturity. This position is ideal for a systems thinker who excels at influencing at scale and driving impact through leadership, strategy, and technical expertise.

**Key Responsibilities**

Inspiring Leadership & Team Development:

- Guide and mentor a substantial engineering group (approx. 40+ engineers)
- Develop and refine your leadership methodologies to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
- Champion continuous performance development and foster a culture of comprehensive, constructive feedback.
- Establish clear expectations for managerial roles, ensuring alignment with overarching company objectives (OKRs).
- Cultivate an environment that is inclusive, motivating, and driven by a shared sense of purpose.

**Strategic Acumen & Business Alignment**:

- Forge strong partnerships with Product counterparts to achieve key business objectives.
- Employ a data-informed methodology to pinpoint challenges, evaluate their effects, and formulate strategic solutions.
- Ensure open communication with the teams, offering ample context for priorities and strategic choices.
- Grasp fundamental business and financial principles to ensure engineering efforts deliver tangible business value.
- Articulate, champion, and execute your strategic roadmap and OKRs, ensuring they resonate with broader company ambitions.

**Technical Excellence & Operational Prowess**:

- Spearhead the evolution of our technical architecture, uphold high standards of quality, and enhance operational maturity within your domain.
- Direct the adoption of industry best practices concerning incident response, robust system design, security protocols, and performance optimization.
- Define and uphold rigorous standards for engineering excellence

**What We’re Looking For**

10+ years of experience in professional software engineering, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles influencing large-scale engineering organizations (approx. 40+ engineers).

Demonstrated ability to mentor and support engineering leaders, foster strong team cultures, and drive performance and alignment across complex technical environments—without direct line management.

Comprehensive expertise in engineering and product strategy, architectural design, operational excellence, and effective cross-departmental project execution.

Experience collaborating closely with Product and cross-functional partners to ensure engineering initiatives are aligned with business objectives and grounded in data-driven decision-making.

Strong technical background in modern cloud infrastructure, scalable system design, and cost optimization practices.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a talent for influencing outcomes, providing strategic clarity, and building trust across all levels of the organization.
