Datalink Engineer F/m

Created in 2009, **ESSP**is a young and dynamic company, a **pan European service provider**, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide **Communication, Navigation and Surveillance**(CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the **EGNOS service** (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

ESSP recruits a:
**Datalink Engineer**:

- (F/M)

If you have **deep knowledge in Communication Navigation Surveillance**with a **high level of English**, good understanding of **European regulation** and have at least **5 years of experience in aeronautical communications**, then this position is for you

By joining us, you will **lead activities in relation to Data Link Services.**

**Your main responsibilities/activities will be**:
**Technical lead and expertise in activities and deliveries related to Data Link Services (DLS)**:

- technical arcquitecture definition;
- Definition of service modelling and concept of operations characterization based on applicable regulatory framework and standards;
- Carry out capacity studies and assessments of different technologies such as Satellites Communications (SATCOM);
- Performance and safety requirements definition;
- Contribution to business case activities;
- Support to service provison of DLS services;
**Leads of technical meetings related to DLS projects (e.g., ESMA, CNS DSP, HERON);**

**Report on DLS projects highlighting the current status of activities, next steps, issues/risks identified**

**Technical lead in the preparation of potential tenders related to DLS/SatCom.**

**PROFILE**:

- Good capacity of analysis, synthesis and reporting
- Team player spirit
- High Level of English (B1-B2) - CEFRL
- Spanish (desirable)
- Ability to assume responsibilities
- Proactiveness/initiative
- Deep knowledge in Communication Navigation Surveillance (CNS) /Air Traffic Management (ATM) technologies, especially focused on datalink technologies (ACARS, VDL Mode 2, SatCom, ATN/OSI, ATN IPS)
- Good understanding of European regulation (such as, but not limited to, Single European Sky regulatory framework and EASA regulation) as well as applicable standards (ICAO, EUROCAE, RTCA, ARINC )

**Other preferable skills**:

- Understanding of satellite-based controller/pilot datalink supporting air traffic management communications
- Good understanding of ICAO Aviation System Block Upgrade and Global Air Navigation Plan
- Knowledge of datalink avionics
