If you share our values and want to take ACTion to energize a sustainable world, then we want to hear from you In the context of ENGIE and GEMS expansion in Spain and Portugal, the Expertise Center Global Market Analysis (GMA) and the Business Platform Iberia (BP Iberia) are looking to hire a **Short term Power Market Analyst **_._** **Role** The Short term Power Market Analyst will focus on Spanish and Portuguese power markets to support the management of ENGIE assets in the region. He/she will work closely with traders and portfolio managers to propose strategies and reduce risks of the portfolio management. She/he will work as well with the Gas, Coal and Emission Market Analysts to integrate cross commodity market views. He/she will develop and use different fundamental models to validate market views and answer questions of power traders and portfolio managers in Madrid. **Main Activities** The Short Term Power Market Analyst will specifically have to - Analyze and understand the fundamentals of power, and ideally gas markets (Iberia) - Develop and maintain power supply/demand models together with the team of analysts, data scientists and IS support - Collect Data and maintain DB to support analysis - Work closely, daily, with traders and portfolio managers; provide real time support and insights, actionable trade ideas - Liaise and coordinate with GEMS market analysis teams - Develop and maintain market data, analysis, recurrent reports and presentations - Analyze competitors’ behaviors - Advice GEMS and Engie entities about market evolution and the impact on asset valuation and risk management - Promote team spirit and collaboration. **We expect** - Master degree or PhD in relevant area (engineering, mathematics, etc), preferably with a high statistics or mathematics component - At least 2 years of work experience in energy market fundamental analysis. - Experience building/developing stochastic or deterministic optimization procedures/models - Strong analytical skills, programming skills (Python) and ability to build models - Experience in a trading environment: Ability to work with traders, to translate market analyses into propositions/Strategies and to communicate them clearly - Clear and effective communication both written and verbal; ability to explain and convey messages about complex issues and models; ability to work in multi-cultural environment. - Reactivity, creativity, initiative, autonomy, ability to cope with tight deadlines, team spirit - Fluent in English.
