**Job Description Summary**: Offshore Controls Validation and tools engineer role is responsible to design, maintain and guide the validation models & tools development to support fulfillment of controls functionalities associated with various components at Wind turbine and Wind Farm level. In this role, the engineer is expected to collaborate with the development and platform teams, and work closely with release leader in order to fulfill the needs with Standard controls release process with continuous rigor by following the priorities of Engineering and projects milestones.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Validation and enhancement of wind turbine controls technologies, covering functional requirements understanding, flow down, test cases creation and execution as well as results documentation and analysis, working together with software development team and coordinating with teams within Renewable engineering and Services on product needs. The broad scope of responsibility provides an opportunity to optimize turbine and sub-system operation.
- As part of the broader control system design, interface with the turbine controls team to incorporate operability requirements into the controller design.
- Investigate controls issues, participate in identifying and perform validation improvements in control strategies.
- Keep Controls Team tools updated, improving processes and automating them to reduce Controls Team effort as well as ensuring best quality of the products.
- Work in daily contact with Controls software development team, contributing to improve quality of software requirements and implementation by ensuring unit and system validation scope.
- Interface with simulations team and incorporate wind turbine and wind farm operability requirements into the validation scope.
- This role requires specialized knowledge in Controls and general knowledge of domain in several disciplines.
- Understand the Controls development workflow and be part of entire controls feature life cycle.
- Identify and drive the improvements in the process and tools to support efficient validation workflows to leverage right platform.
- Understand field issues, services feedback and perform impact analysis towards the specifications followed by design and support the RCA’s resolution.
- Collaborate across different teams to design and execute multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

**Required Qualifications**
- Master’s Degree in Control Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited College or University
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Controls domain.
- Experience with Phyton, or similar scripting languages
- Familiarity and practical experience with agile methodologies or LEAN processes
- Experience with change management process tools
- Good exposure in planning and handling of multiple priorities.
- Experience in design and / or modeling of controls systems
- Experience with new controls algorithm development, implementation and validation techniques: Software in the Loop (SIL), Hardware in the Loop (HIL), Model in the Loop (MIL)
- Knowledge of controls related sensors and actuators
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute activities. Established project management skills.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills and a positive energy
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the Prototype, supplier or customer facilities to support Controls level commitments.

**Desired Characteristics**
- Experience with real time controls design or modeling
- Proficient in Matlab / Simulink for the design and validation of controls systems
- Experience with GE’s MarkVIe or similar PLC’s
- Familiarity and practical experience with agile methodologies and scrum principles.
- Experience in wind industry with a focus on controls systems
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical
