**Company Overview**:
OOX is a leading aerospace engineering firm dedicated to pushing the boundaries of space exploration. Our mission is to design and develop cutting-edge space stations and vehicles that advance human understanding and presence in space. As part of our ambitious endeavor, we are seeking **two** highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural/Mechanical Engineers to join our dynamic team.

**Position Overview**:
As a Senior Structural/Mechanical Engineer at OOX, you will play a pivotal role in the conceptual design and development of the primary structure for a state-of-the-art space station. Working closely with a team of talented engineers and space architects, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of space habitation by contributing to the design and construction of an innovative cutting-edge space station.

**Responsibilities**:

- _Conceptual Design_: Collaborate with the engineering team to conceptualize and develop the primary structure of the space station, considering factors such as structural integrity, weight optimization, and overall system functionality.
- _Structural Analysis_: Perform comprehensive structural analysis and calculations to ensure the structural integrity and stability of the space station, accounting for various operational scenarios, launch forces, station keeping, thermal gradients, and other environmental factors.
Material Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate materials, alloys, composites, and construction techniques for the space station’s primary structure, considering factors such as weight, durability, and resistance to extreme temperature conditions.
- _Technical Documentation_: Create detailed technical specifications, reports, and documentation related to the structural design, analysis, and construction methodologies employed for the space station project.
- _Collaboration_: Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, including aerospace, electrical, and mechanical engineers, to integrate and optimize the structural design with other systems and subsystems.
- _Quality Assurance_: Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the design and construction phases, and actively participate in design reviews and quality control processes.
- _Problem Solving_: Identify and address engineering challenges and obstacles that arise during the design and development stages, offering innovative solutions and alternative approaches as needed.
- _Project Management_: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, working closely with the project management team to ensure timely completion of design milestones and deliverables.

**Qualifications**:

- _Education_: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline would be a plus.
- _Experience_: A minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in structural engineering, preferably within the aerospace or space industry, with a proven track record in conceptual design and analysis of complex structures.
- _Technical Skills_: Proficiency in structural analysis software (such as ANSYS, FEMAP, or similar), computer-aided design (CAD) tools (SolidEdge, CATIA), and other relevant engineering software. Strong knowledge of materials science, structural mechanics, and numerical modelling techniques.
- _Industry Knowledge_: Familiarity with space systems engineering principles, including launch vehicle dynamics, microgravity environments, and space environment effects on structures.
- _Problem-Solving Abilities_: Demonstrated ability to approach complex engineering problems with a creative and analytical mindset, offering innovative solutions while considering practical constraints and limitations.
- _Communication Skills_: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- _Teamwork_: Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- _Adaptability_: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and ability to adapt to changing project priorities and requirements.
- _Language Skills_: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language used for communication within our international team and with external stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.

**Location**:
The position is based in Santander, Spain. OOX’s office in Santander will be your primary work location. However, we also recognize the benefits of remote work and are open to discussing a flexible arrangement that allows for a partial remote work setup, depending on project requirements and individual circumstances.
