Global Lead Buyer Casting

**Your Role & Responsibilities**
- Develop & manage a long-term global commodity strategy with strong emphasis on cost management, maximizing global synergies and improving quality and delivery performance.
- Drive market analysis and benchmark activities (incl. RFQ & negotiations) - use in-depth product and process knowledge, along with knowledge of supplier base, to define and implement material group strategies.
- Coordination and alignment of the creation of budgets, and forecasts for the assigned commodities with the different affected BUs and regions.
- Prepare, support and conduct negotiations to achieve (or exceed) budget.
- Prepare, support and conduct negotiations on standard contracts (e.g., warranty agreement, master purchasing agreement, etc.).
- Lead a global commodity team with regional buyers in different regions.
- Being an interface to project buying in different BUs including bidder list and sourcing decisions.
- Manage & enhance supplier performance, including regular supplier panel reviews, while adding/replacing suppliers as necessary and escalate if required. Develop countermeasures when necessary.
- Supplier and market observation in regard of risk management (shortages, financial situations, etc.).
- Manage and drive escalated market situations like, market shortages, allocations, top quality issues etc.
- Closely partner with affected R&D departments, plants and regional commodity buyers regarding strategy, supplier panel, new technologies & cost improvement projects for the assigned commodities.
- Accelerate standardization across regions; drive and manage cost improvement projects through implementation and escalate in case of unfavorable deviations.

**Your Skills & Strengths**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial)
- English: high level required. Preferably, also additional language skills.
- Relevant experience in purchasing (or: functions close to purchasing) in a Tier 1 environment for commodities with an international purchasing approach.
- Strong negotiation, cost analysis, market analysis, continuous improvement, time and project management skills. Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to identify key issues & effectively coordinate efforts to achieve resolution cross-functionally & globally.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with cross functional teams, including the ability to build alliances in a global, complex, changing environment.
- Advanced quality mindset with knowledge about quality management in the automotive industry.
- Proven ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines.
- Must be able to manage/lead multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to relate & adapt to different cultures.
- Previous exposure or participation in VA/VE and re-engineering is a plus.
- Knowledge of logistics, manufacturing processes, commodity markets and a strong understanding of the assigned commodities.
- Successful history with the consistent understanding and use of cost drivers and market dynamics in the assigned commodities.
