**Description**:
The IE University Library is seeking for a full-time librarian, to coordinate the Interlibrary Loan Service and give further support in other regular duties at the IE University Library. The person should have a good knowledge in library support and management services, as well in cataloguing and knowledge management. The librarian develops policies, procedures, and workflows for the interlibrary loan and reserves operations including copyright compliance and routine statistical reporting. The person will also provide support to maintain and improve the library systems to ensure reliable and efficient access to the library’s collections and resources.

He/she will report to the Library Director and Associate Directors.

We are looking for a temporary full-time temporary position to cover a **maternity leave**, based in Madrid - IE Tower.

**Responsibilities**:
**Your role as **a Library Coordinator **will involve**:

- Responsible for the administration of the interlibrary loan and reserves processing and management.
- Plan, oversee, and evaluate the daily operations of interlibrary loan and reserves services.
- Review and develop regulations and workflow procedures for the interlibrary loan or other related services at the library.
- Collect and analyze data for statistics and trends that can help to improve the service.
- Maintain statistics and prepares technical reports related to interlibrary loan and reserves for presentations to help decision-making.
- Build relationships with other libraries and institutions, at the national and international level.
- Serve as co-administrator of the Library Management Services system.
- Ensure accurate holdings and metadata by evaluating, updating, and resolving metadata standards and schema including Resource Description and Access (RDA), and Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC).
- Provide support to maintain and improve the library systems to ensure reliable and efficient access to the library’s collections and resources.
- Manage circulation/reserves/ILL lending, maintain records.
- Regularly assist in the operation of front-line service in directing user inquiries, as needed.
- Manage e-syllabus bibliography.
- Perform additional job duties as assigned.
- Develop engagement activities and support to the research community.

Qualifications:
**To thrive in this role, you should possess the following **qualifications**:

- A degree or postgraduate degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline, preferable Library and Information Science.
- Strong command of library management systems, taxonomies, ontologies and metadata.
- Familiarity with current models, issues, best practices, and emerging trends in the profession.
- Understanding of the construction of complex searches, modification of results and presentation of results.
- Relevant work experience and education in libraries and information centers might include work in a University, Research Institute, or High Education Library.
- Be motivated to share this knowledge with others and strong interpersonal skills in working with library users and colleagues.
- Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly is valued.
- Show initiative, flexibility, creativity, and innovation while working independently or with others.
- Ability to multitask and manage complexity under time pressure.
- Enthusiasm, team spirit, and strong willingness to have an impact.
- High level of spoken and written English. Other languages are a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital.
