Scientist (Toledo)

Janssen Research & Development seeks to bring innovative and effective treatments in six therapeutic areas of high unmet medical need: neuroscience, cardiovascular diseases and metabolism, infectious diseases, immunology, oncology, and pulmonary hypertension. The Janssen Medicinal Chemistry team in Toledo, close to Madrid (Spain), fully embedded in Janssen’s research worldwide network gives our people the chance to experience many different aspects of drug development throughout their career. It has a successful track record of over thirty years of drug discovery and currently focusses on developing innovative small molecule therapeutics to treat diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, various types of cancers and different infectious diseases.

**Qualifications**

**REQUIREMENTS**
- PhD degree in synthetic, organic or medicinal chemistry
- 2 years of post-degree experience in a Pharma/Academic organic/medicinal chemistry laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated experience in complex organic chemistry, especially multi-step synthesis. Hands on experience with parallel synthesis approaches and automated purification systems is a plus.
- Good public record of scientific contributions (peer reviewed publications in high impact factor journals, patents, oral presentations ).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English both verbal and in writing.
