**Backend Engineer**
We are looking for a Backend Engineer with two or more years experience that wants to take his or her career to the next level working on internal and client-facing web platform projects.
We offer an exciting, forward-thinking Silicon Valley-style environment, working with some of the biggest corporations and most innovative startups in the world. The position will be located in Valencia and will report directly to the Director of Application Development.
You will be working on a brand new initiative at Plug and Play - a software that will underpin the entire company for years to come.
**Who we’re looking for**
As a Backend Engineer you will be responsible for designing the future of our full-stack innovation software using the latest cloud technologies and industry best practices.
You will be doing so as part of an international team.
**What we’re looking for**
**Technical Skills**
Must have
- Two or more years of experience as a backend developer in a software-based product
- Expertise in the Python programming language
- Expertise in at least one popular full-stack web framework (like Django, Spring Boot). Preferably Django.
- Expertise in designing scalable data solutions based on object-relational mapping (ORM)
- Experience designing and implementing secure REST APIs
Nice to have
- Experience of popular web architecture patterns and tooling (i.e. microservices, event driven ).
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines
- Knowledge of Cloud Service providers offerings (PaaS and IaaS)
- Data analytics: data warehouse design, ETL software, visualization tools (PowerBI )
- Knowledge of machine learning
**Soft Skills**
- Good collaboration skills
- Be an optimistic and open-minded doer willing to adopt new approaches and technologies while ensuring that they are effectively put to work within our stack
- Support the team in our journey to become a DevOps workshop.
- Fluency in English is essential
