We are looking for a mid to senior-level Corporate and Export Finance Expert to coordinate the financial structuring of QGMI projects in Africa and Latin America, liaising with major international financial institutions, Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), banks, multilateral agencies and insurance companies to bring attractive and cost-effective financial solutions to the implementation of small, mid and large-scale Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contracts.
As a representative of the Corporate and Export Finance Division, this position has a mix of business development, project management and financing responsibilities. You will be responsible to support the entire process of corporate financings as well as the financial structuring of an infrastructure project in an emerging market. This includes, but not limited to:
Thoroughly examine the issues and nuances of a transaction and assess how various factors could affect its bankability
- Actively participate in structuring calls and meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Interact frequently and cooperate with other internal departments within QGMI Group such as Engineering and Cost Estimation, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Sustainability, Treasury and Operations
- Work on Excel modelling to calculate discounted cash flows, internal rate of return, projections and overall financing modelling when necessary
- Negotiate term sheets and Letters of Interest with banks and financial institutions
- Liaise with outsourced financial advisors retained by the company as well as providing technical support and expertise to all projects managed by QGMI, when required
- Prepare internal transaction greenlight memos for management decisions
- Proactively highlight projects pitfalls and carry out project audits to ensure strategic projects stay on course
- Monitor the evolution of the financial structuring with the involved financial institutions, targeting optimized timelines for financial close
- Support management in preparing corporate and business plans to key business decisions
- Create and keep up to date project´s evolution reports
- Support the Corporate and Export Finance Division in defining material aspects, indicators, KPIs as well as company-wide reporting requirements
- Identify areas for improvements and implement them in the day-to-day processes
- Any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.
- A Bachelor’s or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or closely related fields
- Knowledge of Corporate, Export or Project Finance industry including ECA´s Buyer Credit Schemes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint): outstanding PowerPoint and Excel skills and be able to build financial models
- Experience with financial modelling and a strong, fundamental grounding in Finance disciplines, including discounted cash flow analysis
- Understanding of core financial documents (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet)
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a related field preferable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is a must. Advanced level of Spanish and/or Portuguese and/or French languages is desired (although not mandatory) and will be considered a plus
- Problem-solving oriented, strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the organization, including senior management
- Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change-oriented setting and therefore knowledge of the main segments of the export finance markets and the participants in major regions of Africa
- Ability to meet, discuss and negotiate the financial structuring of projects with senior officials of banks, corporates and, in specific cases, governments
- Efficient multi-tasking capacity and work well under pressure meeting deadlines
- Availability to travel across Europe, Africa and Latin America
- Must be eligible to work in Spain
