A bit about the role

As part of our new IT Security team we are looking for an IT Security Manager who will be responsible for all IT Security Operations covering enterprise and cloud security across the organisation, supporting all the business divisions. You will enforce procedures and compliance across IT systems and services.

Working closely with stakeholders and third parties you will ensure that the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled and supported to protect the organisation from cyber threats.

You will have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and stay up to date with all the latest security standards, systems and authentication protocols, as well as best practice security products.

As the IT Security Manager you will ensure that the execution of the IT disaster recover and continuity of operations and participation in testing of IT disaster recovery plans.

Key objectives for the role of IT Security Manager
- Responsibility of IT Security Operations covering enterprise and cloud security across the organisation, supporting all business divisions.
- Responsible for key IT Security processes including incident response/management, patching, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, IT security monitoring etc.
- Embed IT security processes, controls, and performance measurement throughout IT and Business Units and ensure integration of these into monitoring tools.
- Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats
- Working with 3rd party security operators to resolve security operations, security audit findings etc.
- Drive security testing to identify and remediate vulnerabilities, measuring effectiveness of systems and network configurations against known vulnerabilities.
- Promptly responding to all security incidents and providing thorough post-event analyses
- Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and End User hardware devices.
- Segregate critical assets and networks from untrusted networks
- Manage, optimise and/or implement operational network, end-point, cloud configuration, and collaboration security controls / technologies.
- Maintain an ongoing schedule of patch deployment based on vulnerability identification and associated prioritisation.
- Drive security testing to identify vulnerabilities, measuring effectiveness of systems and network configurations against known vulnerabilities.
- Ensure the execution of IT disaster recovery and continuity of operations and participate in testing of IT disaster recovery plans, as required.
- Working with 3rd party suppliers to ensure that process SLA’s are met.
- Provide regular IT Security reporting, KPI’s and dashboards
- Ensuring that processes and procedures for key IT Security processes are fully documented and communicated.
- Reviewing current system security measures and recommending and implementing enhancements
- Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy
- Be a point of consultation, specialist advise and recommend approaches across teams and various stakeholders

- Demonstrable experience designing and implementing IT Security Operations across infrastructure, cloud & networks
- Extensive and demonstrable experience working within, and securing cloud environments - Azure & AWS
- Hands on Experience of Security Standards including ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS
- Background in IT Infrastructure (e.g. sysadmin, DBA, network engineer)
- Operational security experience, likely gained in a SOC environment, and including hands on incident management experience.
- IT Project Management experience (+3 years)
- A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success.
