**Position Overview**:
As a Patrol Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of vehicles and equipment used in patrol operations. This position involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing regular maintenance, and conducting repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the safety and efficiency of patrol activities.
You’ll be out and about meeting their customers, away from a traditional garage setting. This is a key role in upholding the company brand, providing great variety and job satisfaction as reflected in our outstanding customer feedback.
You’ll enjoy a structured work schedule with an 8-week roster rotation, typically 5 days on and 3 days off, along with clear rosters and expectations on seasonal overtime As well as attractive shift premiums: 1.5x rate from Saturday 8pm to Monday 8am, 1.5x rate for overtime from Monday to Saturday, and 2.0x rate on Sundays and Bank Holidays..
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide roadside assistance, including diagnostics and on-the-spot repairs.
- Ensure the swift and safe restoration of vehicle functionality.
- Maintain professionalism and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Keep accurate records of all services performed and parts used.
- Manage and maintain the company van, ensuring it is fully equipped.
- Stay informed about the latest automotive technologies and repair methods.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a mechanic, ideally in roadside assistance or a similar role.
- QQI Level 6 mechanic (or equivalent).
- Full clean Category B driving license; Category BE license is advantageous.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills across various vehicle types.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
**Benefits**:
- Competitive salary range of €43,800 to €60,000 with a 5% annual on-target bonus.
- On-target earnings ranging from €50,000-60,000 (including shift premiums, OT, & performance bonus).
