The Infrastructure and Operations Cloud Engineer has a deep understanding of storage, data protection, workplace, networking, security, virtualization, and cloud technologies, and is responsible for providing expert guidance and recommendations to ensure the scalability, availability, and performance of our IT systems.

Single Point of Contact for R&D Data Science Department coordinating IT infrastructure dependent demand
Definition, implementation and development of technological solutions for computational biologists, according to the Almirall IT landscape, infrastructure and security requirements.

**Functions & Responsibilities**:
This position will be held in our Sant Feliu office with the possibility to work remotely up to 2 days a week.
- Within the Infrastructure and Operations Team, this position will work directly embedded in a cross-functional team, composed mainly by R&D data scientist, R&D Data Engineers, D&AI Architects and other potential R&D or IT stakeholders. The functions will include the understanding of their IT infrastructure requirements and translate them into viable technical solutions.
- Design and implementation of cloud solutions in Azure, proofs of concept, pilots, projects or evolutive requests.
- Cloud infrastructure management with hands on capability, including configuration of virtual networks, storage, databases, and compute services.
- Automating deployments and managing resources using tools such as Azure DevOps and Terraform.
- Container orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies and provide recommendations for the adoption and integration of these technologies into the IT infrastructure.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the successful delivery of IT infrastructure services and solutions.

**Education**:
Hold a graduate degree in Engineering, IT or within the Computational Sciences realm.

Proven experience in stakeholder management will be an advantage.

**Skills**:

- Strong expertise of Cloud architectures, especifically in Azure
- Strong Experience designing and implementing Enterprise Data & Analytics Architectures
- Broad understanding of the current and emerging technology trends and developments
- Strong working knowledge of governance policies and practices in architectures focused on self-service & business autonomy
- Good communication skills

**Experience**:

- Typically has 3 to 5 years of IT work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments.
- Typically has 3 to 5 years work experience in building technical architectures in Azure
- Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex, cross-functional and dynamic environments
