Lead Engineer

**Job Description Summary**:
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Engineering fulfillment of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), WindCONTROL, wind turbine controls & electrical scope including:

- Owning Application and Requisition activities for CM&U services offerings including SCADA, WindCONTROL, wind turbine controls & electrical scope; effectively mitigate technical risks and coordinate the resolution of all technical challenges
- Translating contractual/project requirements into SCADA product definition
- Creating project specific customer & commissioning documentation
- Configure software & control parameters per site requirements
- Issuing Bill of Materials & required software to supply chain
- Providing technical and troubleshooting support for site installation & commissioning
- Providing timely & accurate responses to customer technical inquiries
- Cost estimations for engineered CM&U’s
- Act as single point of contact for technical decisions with project teams and end customers to ensure customer satisfaction and business success
- Support sales team by working directly with customers to identify potential products to meet their needs
- Ensures timely support for responses to all customer technical inquiries, meetings, and communications; this includes review of customer specifications & site data
- Create, review, and issue technical proposals / documentation
- Support the Field Services organization to ensure complete technical definition of CM&Us, including Bill of Material (BoM), Field Modification Instructions (FMI), etc.
- Ensure project specific lessons learned are distributed with the affected Engineering design teams and global Scada Team
- support Application engineering on special customer SCADA request during ITO
- Support new IT features implementation
- Customer advisory on special IT configurations and requirements
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or related) from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Experience in SCADA, Controls or power conversion equipment
- Passion for electrical power systems and equipment
- Several years of working experience in Wind Energy
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset and creativity
- Experience in wind turbine or power plant systems
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally based on customer-, team
- and training needs
- Fluent in English and Spanish or German
- Proficiency with MS Office Tools
- Self-motivated team player
- Experience in working with international teams
- EU Work Permit
**Desired Characteristics**
- Wind turbine experience in design, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance
- Working knowledge of the Wind Engineering CM&U / Design-to-Order process
- Proficiency with SQL, OPC, ODBC, MODBUS, networking and controls software
- Experience with TCP/IP network over fiber optic, wireless, and microwave infrastructure
- Experience with Toolbox
- Experience troubleshooting, configuring and deploying enterprise system
- Knowledge of Wind technology and the levers available to improve performance in an aftermarket setting
- Project Management mind-set
- Experience in generating and delivering customer-facing technical presentations
- Proven success working with external customers, including the ability to find customer value and help the Sales team win deals
- Proven ability to interpret customer requirements and identify needs
- Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives
- Proven strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization
- Strong Oral and written communication skills
- Experience providing technical support to Sales, Commercial and Services functions
