Due to an exciting period of growth, we’re looking for an experienced senior technical lead to join a fast-growing team of software development specialists. In this role you will lead a challenging and disruptive project: our Antenna Intelligence Cloud Service facilitates the integration of our antenna solutions in any IoT device.
This service enable easy access to our Virtual Antenna technology, a tool to guide our potential customers to design their IoT devices in the easier, faster, and reliable manner to ensure the success of their developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Antenna Intelligence Cloud (AIC) project from a technical perspective covering all the stages of the AIC development cycle, including both backend (AIC core, AWS services) and frontend (web interface, output report) areas, providing appropriate solutions and recommendations when needed.
- Lead a highly skilled technical team to deploy such developments seamlessly.
- Analyze and define the AIC project requirements ensuring the best solution available to meet the customer expectations and our internal engineering team needs.
- Lead the AIC Engineers to efficiently implement such new AIC features. Identify the tasks to be outsourced and assign them to the most suitable partner.
- Maintain, secure, and constantly improve the currently built AIC features while defining new ones and AWS cloud architecture to enable them.
- Be involved in the implementation of new scripts to integrate these new features on the AIC core and optimize our cloud processes (VBA, Python). Version control with GIT is a plus.
- Good understanding of AWS cloud services and architectures implemented to launch on-demand tasks in batch mode.
- Lead the implementation of AI and ML models on the cloud architecture with the objective to generate accurate responses based on existing data.
- Good understanding and knowledge of the design cycle required to embed an internal antenna in any IoT device. From proof stage to design stage up to qualification stage. (Desired)
- Coordinate and drive the interaction with other Ignion departments and third parties that take part in the development of the AIC next generation.
- Define the AIC annual project plan and budget. Share and review it with the most relevant stakeholders seeking approval. Fulfill technical milestones, secure project deadlines and goals satisfying the budget constraints.
- Optimize the use of the electromagnetic simulation and microwave software to simulate efficiently total or several parts of an antenna radiating system (radiating structure, feeding and matching networks) while improving the agreement between the simulated and the measured results.
- Knowledge of designing simple and complex matching network solutions in both, active and passive systems, to easily adjust the antenna performance in the final device.
- Knowledge of simulating, measuring, and testing antenna solutions in all their main features (S parameters, radiation pattern, antenna and radiation efficiency, polarization, gain, directivity, TRP, TIS, etc ).
- Analysis, interpretation, reporting, and presentation of the project results.
- Periodic reporting to the manager of the assigned activities.
- Identify bottlenecks and propose mitigation plans.
- Training and coordination activities of other team members.
- Train and coach team members to develop their career path at Ignion.
- Creation and presentation of technical and customer reports. Participation in Virtual Antenna webinars and workshops.
This is you
- Antenna engineer with 5-8 years of industry experience in the field of antenna design (preferably for IoT devices).
- Solid experience in radiofrequency design & electronics for IoT devices.
- Deep knowledge of electromagnetic and microwave simulators (CST, HFSS, Microwave Office - Cadence, Optenni-Lab, ).
- Proficient in EM simulators scripting (VBA, Python).
- Knowledge on revision control repositories (GIT preferred).
- Understanding on the most relevant cloud services oriented to launch on-demand batch mode jobs (AWS preferred).
- Experience in working with or developing artificial intelligence and machine learning models is a plus.
- Familiarized with antenna design challenges for the existing IoT market segments: Smart meter, trackers, wearables, smart home/city, etc
- Solid understanding and insight on the physical behavior of antennas and microwave networks and systems.
- High capability of fully understanding the customers’ needs and requirements to properly define future AIC features to meet their expectations.
- Ability to lead, train and guide teams. Assume ownership of the whole AIC project required tasks with good planification, execution, and delivery skills.
