Collections and Litigations Manager

We are currently looking for a **Collections and Litigations Manager **who wants to join our team. You will lead our loss-mitigation and recovery efforts with regards to delinquent Credit products originated by Novicap, as well as manage litigious matters that may arise from our business activities.

**What will you do?**

As mentioned, you will be responsible for loss-mitigation and recovery efforts with regards to delinquent and defaulted Credit products originated by Novicap, as well as for litigious matters within our business. You will lead a team of 2 Debt Collection Specialists to do so.

Based on a solid understanding of our goals and existing processes, you will design collection and litigation strategies, and implement them in the day-to-day to meet our objectives.

In order to achieve your mission, you will:

- With respect to Debt Collection:

- Lead the improvement of existing design of debt collection strategies, as well as its implementation in the day-to-day, managing a team of 2 Debt Collection Specialists
- Be responsible for reducing the time to recovery and increase the recovery rate on overdue receivables, using both out-of-court and judicial processes to do so
- Coordinate with the Operations and Underwriting teams to take preventive measure with respect to the performance of our credit portfolio
- Effectively communicate with customers, striking the right balance between commerciality and assertiveness
- Manage any external service providers that may be relied on for debt collection activities at Novicap
- With respect to Litigation:

- Design and implement a litigation risk framework for the broader Team to accurately identify and escalate threats of litigation across the business
- Manage threats of and cases of litigations whether Novicap is a defendant or a claimant, whether it is out-of-court or as part of a judicial process
- Collaborate with external law firms when necessary

**Who will you be working with?**

You will report directly to the Head of Risk & Operations and work closely with the rest of the Legal and Operations teams across Madrid and Barcelona. We are a young and dynamic team that’s waiting for you with arms open

**You are the right fit if you**:

- Have more than 10 years of experience as a **practicing litigation or restructuring lawyer**, in a corporate debt collection agency or in a law firm
- Have proven track record in the design and implementation of corporate debt collections strategies
- Have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, seeking understanding the point of the view of the opposite part in order to reach an agreement
- Have managed litigation cases in a business environment, from the perspectives of both a defendant and a claimant
- Have excellent verbal & written communication skills, as well as effective listening skills
- Are fluent in Spanish and English
- Are highly organized, with the ability to deliver on deadlines and manage conflicting priorities within a dynamic environment
- Lead with transparency and integrity
- Have self-motivation and attention to details
- Are reliable, with a proactive approach to entrusted tasks
