Prior to taking on engineering management, you likely were a senior individual contributor with a comprehensive understanding of complex systems that you were a vital part of developing & launching over the years. - Your experience has given you the perspective to help other engineers prioritise their tasks, shape their career decisions, and face tricky challenges. - We need our engineers to be versatile, capable of mentoring and enthusiastic about taking on new challenges as we continue to push technology forward. We are product-oriented engineers with a growth mindset. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - You’ll spend time on: - Coach engineers to grow in a professional (improving skills, problem-solving abilities) and personal way (by supporting and giving them frequent feedback).- - Lead a team of diverse and talented software engineers with different levels of expertise.- - Be responsible for the growth and happiness of the team members.- - Ensure the teams’ efficiency and high-quality work: enforce tech excellence, tech debt management and regular adjustment of processes and timelines in line with continuous improvement philosophy;- - Think critically about the long-term career development of team members.- - Conduct regular check-ins and 1-1- - Communicate across cross-functional teams such as Product, Analytics, Creative, and Design.- - Lead prioritization efforts and provide mentorship to others.- - Understanding how our business works and how products add value to your customers.
