The Language Doctors is seeking Entry-Level Remote Spanish Medical Interpreters to join our diverse team. The chosen interpreters will advocate for patients, ensuring access to comprehensive healthcare services through intercultural mediation.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Accurate and Timely Interpretation**:Provide precise and timely remote interpretation services for diverse clients.
- **Ethical Standards and Confidentiality**:Interpret critical information, adhering to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements.
- **Positive Interactions**:Foster positive interactions with healthcare professionals, patients, customers, and clinical staff.
- **Documentation**:Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs and necessary documentation.
- **Continuous Learning**:Actively participate in ongoing educational programs and internal professional training.
- **Professional Call Handling**:Answer calls professionally, following the Interpreter's code of conduct, and take notes during calls.
- **Industry-Specific Vocabulary**:Ensure familiarity with industry-specific vocabulary, especially in healthcare and medicine.
- **Customer Service Excellence**:Provide exceptional customer service during interpreting sessions, adhering to standards of practice.
- **Communication Facilitation**:Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients.
- **Cultural Sensitivity**:Demonstrate a commitment to cultural sensitivity and professionalism in various industries, responding promptly to interpreting sessions, and maintaining a calm demeanor, especially in emergencies.

**Qualifications**:

- **Bilingual Skills**:Fluent in Spanish and English, with cultural awareness.
- **Communication Skills**:Able to communicate effectively, considering regional and accent differences.
- **Listening and Note-Taking**:Strong listening, retention, and note-taking abilities.
- **Language Background**:Background or interest in language-related fields.
- **Age Requirement**:Minimum age of 18.
- **Independent Worker**:Capable of independent work with a commitment to specified hours.
- **Education**:High school diploma.
- **Interpersonal Skills**:High emotional intelligence, cultural tolerance, and effective communication.
- **Resourceful and Detail-Oriented**:Resourceful with attention to detail and a sense of ownership.
- **Communication Proficiency**:Strong written and verbal communication skills, focused on excellent customer service.
- **Confidentiality and Teamwork**:Proficient in managing confidential information, adaptable to teamwork.
- **Problem-Solving and Follow-through**:Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow directions.

**Technical Requirements**:

- **Dedicated equipment**:Computer, headsets, and camera.
- **High-speed internet connection** (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload) for work-related communication.
- Access to a **quiet, distraction-free space.**
- **Direct cable or fiber optic connection** from modem to desktop or laptop (satellite service not permissible).

**Working hours**:
This is a part-time position. The working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 5.30 pm EST. We suggest 4 to 6 hours a day. (Times are expressed in US Eastern Standard Times).
