**About the job**
- Develop a single platform to provide deep insights into IO (immuno-oncology) by integrating internal and external multi-modal data (e.g., single cell omics, proteomics, CRISPR etc.) into new or existing proprietary knowledge graphs
- Build graph analytical approaches to deliver novel drug target hypotheses for the next generation of AstraZeneca immunotherapies, for propsective validation and potential downstream investment
- Support drug combination discovery efforts across our IO therapy areas (e.g. Cell Therapy) by identifying mechanism-of-action pairs from internal investigational and portfolio projects
- Work at the cutting edge of modelling clinical trial data using AI and graph analytics to deliver biomarker identification, patient stratification, and drug resistance hypotheses for our internal clinical trials

**Minimum Requirements**:

- A graduate degree (e.g. Masters or PhD) in a quantitative discipline (Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Statistics or similar).
- Broad expertise with techniques for integration and analysis of big/complex data.
- Expertise solving data problems with state-of-the-art statistical and machine learning techniques, particularly in one of the core competency areas e.g.
- Machine/deep learning for biological/health data e.g. genomics
- Representational learning of graphs/networks (inc. neural network-based methods e.g. GCN, GAT)
- Graph theory, Bayesian or logical causal reasoning applied to graphs/networks
- Natural Language Processing, especially for biomedical text
- Experience working with pre-clinical or clinical molecular data
- Skilled in effective communication of complex data and methods to a non-expert
- Programming proficiency esp. Python and R, networked and cloud-based systems
- Effective collaborations involving cross-disciplinary teams
- Experience contributing to the research community through re-useable code, publication and conferences.
