The successful candidate will need to work with the rest of the DBA team to design and implement database strategies for large-scale projects, develop and maintain very large and high availability databases, and its documentation, and implement and manage robust disaster recovery plans to ensure continuity.We are looking for an excellent communicator, with seriously good MSSQL server experience. This is an opportunity to join an innovative company with global impact and build world-class infrastructure to scale our solutions. This is a senior level DBA role on mission critical systems running multi-terabyte databases that contain billions of records and thousands of queries, procedures, and functions.What you will do…Collaborate with development teams to optimize database performance for mission-critical applicationsRigorously monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database issues to ensure optimal system performanceExecute and manage critical database backups, restores, and recovery modelsImplement and maintain stringent database access and security protocolsConduct comprehensive database performance tuning and maintenance to maximize efficiencyOversee and execute database installations and upgrades with precision and minimal downtimeDesign and implement robust database replication strategies to ensure data consistency across systemsDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation of standard processesQualificationsDemonstrable mastery of SQL database design and maintenance principles, particularly MSSQLIn-depth expertise with SQL Server high availability configurations and provisioning techniquesProven track record of successfully managing mission-critical and highly complex multi-terabyte database environmentsComprehensive understanding of security protocols and database maintenance, including advanced monitoring techniques, troubleshooting methodologies, and issue resolution strategiesExtensive hands-on experience with critical database operations, including but not limited to:Implementing and managing robust database backup, restore, and recovery modelsEnforcing database access and security measuresExecuting advanced database performance tuning and maintenance proceduresConducting flawless database installations and upgrades with minimal system disruptionDesigning and implementing sophisticated database replication strategiesProven experience with PostgreSQL databasesExperience with RDS on AWSExperience with Git, publishing code, code versioning, branching, etc.Bonus points if you haveExperience with Databricks is an advantageRelevant industry qualificationsCurrent blog/public content in the fieldAdditional InformationOur ValuesCollaboration is our superpowerWe uncover rich perspectives across the worldSuccess happens togetherInnovation is in our bloodWe’re pioneers in our industryOur curiosity is insatiableWe bring the best ideas to life.We do what we sayWe’re accountable for our work and actionsExcellence comes as standardWe’re open, honest and kind, always.We are caringWe learn from each other’s experiencesStop and listen; every opinion mattersWe embrace diversity, equity and inclusion.
