DevEx Engineering Lead

We will take care of it. The mission The mission is to own the strategy, tooling, and culture that make every BrainRocket engineer faster and happier. You will lead the DevEx Engineering team, own our Internal Developer Platform, and establish measurable, self‑service practices around build, release, and observability. Responsibilities Lead DevEx / DevRel / Platform teams with 3+ years of experience; proven track record hiring and mentoring engineers. Strong skills in Node.js & TypeScript, plus experience with additional languages (Go, Python, or Java) for tooling and automation. Clear storyteller who can influence execs, partner teams, and individual contributors. Prior experience working on an Internal Developer Platform or DevEx initiative. Familiarity with tools like Port.io, Cortex, Backstage, etc. Understanding of microservices architectures and team/service ownership models. Collaborate with all engineering departments to identify pain points and solutions for development, testing, and delivery, ensuring security and reliability. Aggregate best practices and produce reusable company‑wide solutions. Lead the architecture of an Internal Developer Portal. Provide scorecards and golden paths for all development teams regarding toolset, plugins, frameworks, and processes. Drive the TechRadar initiative and related processes for trial, assessment, adoption, and retirement of solutions. Collect developer‑centric KPIs, run satisfaction surveys, and iterate on tooling to reduce lead time and cognitive load, establishing a DevEx feedback loop (surveys, Slack AMA, interviews). Develop internal training programs, workshops, and documentation to onboard new developers and upskill existing teams; promote learning resources, conferences, and certifications for career growth. Establish mentorship opportunities and promote knowledge sharing. Qualifications 3+ years leading DevEx / DevRel / Platform teams; proven record of hiring and mentoring engineers.
