We aim to present deep, meaningful subjects in a way that's captivating, easy-to-digest and entertaining for all ages.At the heart of Klang is Seed, a large-scale, persistent virtual world that we believe will redefine the MMO landscape and have a positive impact on our species.We aspire to bring people together through engaging media experiences and by building strong communities.Klang is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Game Designer to join our team and play a critical role in the development of SEED, our ambitious life-simulation virtual world.Responsibilities:Design and develop innovative game systems, mechanics, and content that align with the SEED vision and adhere to our design lenses, ensuring a cohesive and engaging player experience.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including artists, programmers, and producers, to ensure successful implementation and iteration of game design features.Create clear and concise design documentation, including technical writing, diagrams, and spreadsheets, to effectively communicate design concepts and requirements to the team.Analyze game data and player feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, balance, and optimization in game mechanics, economy, and overall player experience.Mentor and guide junior designers, sharing your expertise and fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a cutting-edge understanding of game design principles and techniques.Participate in regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to help shape the future direction of the game.Requirements:5+ years of experience in game design, with a focus on virtual worlds, life-simulation, or sandbox games.Successfully shipped games.Strong understanding of game design principles, including game balancing, economy, and player progression systems.Proficient in technical writing, creative writing, and the use of spreadsheets for game design and analysis.Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and make data-driven decisions.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.Passion for creating engaging and meaningful player experiences.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working on cross-platform games, particularly PC and mobile.Familiarity with game data editing tools and techniques.Avid gamer with a deep understanding of the MMO and life-simulation genres.If you don’t feel that you quite meet all the requirements above, but the position still excites you and you think you would love to work for Klang, reach out We still want to hear from you.At Klang, we create products that inspire people to deepen their understanding of the emergent nature of society and collectively envision a better future.We explicitly encourage applications from applicants from groups underrepresented in games/tech spaces.
