Principal Scala Engineer at BairesDev We are seeking a Principal Scala Engineer with deep expertise in Scala development, functional programming, big data processing, distributed systems, and the JVM ecosystem. The technology stack includes popular Scala technologies and frameworks for functional programming, big data processing, and distributed computing. The ideal candidate will lead the design and optimization of high‑performance Scala systems, drive architectural decisions, and mentor engineering teams while delivering cutting‑edge solutions for complex big data and distributed computing challenges. What You’ll Do Design and optimize Scala‑based systems for large‑scale big data processing applications. Architect advanced functional programming solutions for complex data workflows. Lead distributed systems development using Scala and JVM ecosystem technologies. Drive performance optimization initiatives for high‑throughput Scala applications. Implement scalable big data processing frameworks using functional programming paradigms. Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across projects. What We Are Looking For 10+ years of experience in software development with strong Scala expertise. Proven experience in functional programming paradigms and advanced Scala techniques. Strong expertise in big data processing frameworks and large‑scale data systems. Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture and implementation. Proficiency in JVM ecosystem technologies and performance optimization. Experience with scalable system design and functional programming patterns. Advanced level of English.
