The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our MSSQL servers, which serve as the backend for a variety of software products developed by our company. This role will also involve future deployment and support of NoSQL technologies, such as CosmosDB, as we expand our product offerings.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Management: Install, configure, and maintain MSSQL servers in an Azure environment to ensure high availability and performance.Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and index management.Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.Security: Ensure database security by managing access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing timely support to development and operations teams.Support: Be part of an on-call rotation, responding to critical incidents outside of typical working hours to ensure quick restoration of service.Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks, including backups, deployment, and maintenance.Collaboration: Work closely with software developers to design and optimize database schemas and queries.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.Future Technologies: Plan and support the deployment of NoSQL databases, such as CosmosDB, to meet the evolving needs of our products.RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience as a DBA, with a focus on MSSQL in an Azure environment.Proficiency in MSSQL Server administration and performance tuning.Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.Experience in using Solarwinds DPA to understand performance issues and recommend corrective actions.Knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly CosmosDB, is a plus.Familiarity with database security best practices.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Why Join Tools Group?Become part of the supply chain planning disruption joining the fast-growing ToolsGroup family Our people are the engine that propels ToolsGroup to innovate - pushing the boundaries of what's possible.You’ll be surrounded by the very best and brightest, rewarded with competitive compensation, and career growth opportunities; becoming part of a company where teamwork and collaboration are paramount.
