Success here means more than writing great code: it's about problem-solving pragmatically, taking ownership as a team, and delivering impact that's felt across Flywire and our clients worldwide.What You'll Do Write clean, secure, high-quality, testable, and maintainable codeResolve complex bugs and production issues, ensuring system stabilityAnalyse challenging problems where multiple variables demand thoughtful solutionsExercise sound judgement when selecting methods, tools, and evaluation criteriaDrive improvements in scalability and performance across our systemsLead change and improvement through all phases of the development lifecycleCollaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to shape product visionMentor teammates and take initiative in leading technical projectsSupport recruitment by identifying and inspiring great engineering talentEnsure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of our applicationsWhat We're Looking For 8+ years of experience in web application developmentProven expertise in building scalable, performant, and reliable distributed systemsStrong foundations in object-oriented programming and relational databasesSkilled in test-driven and behaviour-driven development (TDD/BDD)Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practicesAbility to partner effectively with QAs, Product, and SREs in a cross-functional teamExcellent communication skills — able to convey complex ideas clearlyFluent in English (our company's working language)Experience in FinTech or the payments industry (a plus, not required)A passion for delivering high-quality code and continuously learningWhy Join Us?
