Market Strategy Manager, Iberia Power Markets

Overview The Role: The Market Strategy Manager plays a pivotal role in optimizing Sonnedix’s participation in the Iberian wholesale electricity markets, focusing on Day-Ahead (DA), Intraday (ID), and Adjustment Services. The Market Strategy Manager is responsible for ensuring competitive market positioning and maximizing revenues by designing and executing effective short-term market strategies, overseeing the Route-to-Market (RTM) framework, and monitoring market dynamics to identify opportunities and mitigate risks. The Market Strategy Manager is part of the Commercial function and works closely with the Asset Management and regulatory teams. The role ensures alignment between market operations and the Company’s broader commercial and asset strategies. Key responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of forecasting and bidding optimization tools for generation assets such as solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), improving valuation methodologies, and enabling robust bidding strategies to deliver optimal market outcomes. Desirable Skills & Experience Deep understanding of Iberian electricity markets, including market design and regulatory frameworks Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex datasets and translate insights into actionable strategies Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Results-oriented leadership, with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and influence decision-making Proven ability to build trust and alignment with market agents, aggregators, regulators, and internal decision-makers Language We use English as our business language; please submit your CV in English.
