DetailsNegotiableFull-Time1 positionAbout MicroEurope:MicroEurope is a social investment company dedicated to building a more equitable financial system and promoting financial inclusion in Europe. It was founded by a team of highly specialized industry practitioners with extensive knowledge of the local microfinance market and unique technical support capability.We invest a mix of venture and growth capital and provide technical assistance to strengthen local financial intermediaries in their capacity to deliver long-term capital to micro and small enterprises and provide adequate access to affordable financial services to low-income households and marginalized communities excluded from the traditional banking system.We are seeking an experienced investment professional to lead our investment strategy and drive our growth.Key Responsibilities:Identify and evaluate qualifying investment opportunities in line with strategic objectives and risk toleranceStructure, execute and exit private equity direct investments in inclusive financial services providers and fintech companiesOversee the management of investment portfolios, ensuring optimal asset allocation and diversificationMonitor and manage investment risks, implementing risk mitigation strategies as neededEnsure that monitoring procedures in place are compliant with funders, donors and investment needsBuild and manage relationships with existing and potential investors, selectively leading fundraising effortsLead and mentor the Investment Team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional developmentProvide regular updates on the value of portfolio investments in accordance with the company's policies to the Investment Committee and Board of DirectorsEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policiesStay updated on economic trends, market conditions and regulatory changesDesired Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a related field; MBA, CFA or CAIA designation preferred10 years of experience in impact investing or development finance, with at least 5 years of experience in private equity direct investmentsStrong understanding of microfinance, impact and illiquid investment strategies and risk management principlesExceptional leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative and results-oriented approachFluent in English and a second European language, Spanish preferredCompetitive salary and performance-based bonus based on resultsPossibility to work fully remotely (in Europe) with occasional travel to HQ (Bilbao, Spain) and across Europe requiredMicroEurope is an equal opportunity employer.
