Overview: Engineering Services seeks an experienced Communications Engineer to lead the development and implementation of the next‑generation telecommunications systems and infrastructure (radio communications, satellite, 5G/6G, and future evolutions). The role collaborates with instrumentation, controls, site, facility planning and project management teams to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of industrial communications. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support for development, implementation, and troubleshooting of telecom systems (radio, satellite, 5G/6G). Conduct engineering studies to identify optimal solutions that reduce cost, increase revenue, and improve safety. Lead or participate in task teams that investigate incidents or solve technical problems. Develop and maintain company standards, specifications, procedures, and best practices for telecom excellence. Evaluate vendors and contractors, representing the company in technical dealings. Introduce best practices and new technologies for industry‑leading performance. Perform cost analyses and value‑engineering studies for cost‑effective solutions. Conduct seminars and technical exchanges to disseminate emerging technologies. Publish papers and present at industry conferences. Deliver technical courses to company talent through the Technical Services Professional Academy. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Telecommunications, Electronics and Communication or related field. 20+ years of progressive telecom experience, including 5+ years in radio, satellite and 5G technologies. Knowledge of telecom systems, network architecture, protocols, infrastructure design, and performance optimization. Experience with IoT/IIOT, civil engineering of underground telecom infrastructure, fiber optics, industrial wireless protocols (ISA100, Wireless HART). Proficiency in telecom standards and regulations for 5G, 6G, satellite, and radio communication. Recognized expert within industry and professional societies.
