This innovative project blends Action-RPG/Survival mechanics with the unique elements of life simulation games to redefine the genre and capture the imagination of gamers around the world.As a Lead 3D Character Artist you will:Provide strong leadership and thoughtful direction to a team of 3D Character Artists.Create (Sculpt, Model, UV, texture, and create materials) high-quality characters and creatures.Deliver excellent translations of characters while considering game design constraints and respecting a strong artistic direction.Work closely with the Art Director to ensure the visual target is always exceeded and stylistically consistent.Provide creative and technical direction to character artists, and bean active motivator in team discussions, critiques, and reviews.Actively participate in technical and aesthetic problem-solving discussions for the entire project.Coordinate with tools and technology teams to develop necessary solutions for creating the best characters possible.Review assets to make certain that they satisfy their intended design and are ready for rigging and animation.Collaborate with other disciplines such as Design, Concept Art, Animation, Tech Art, and VFX to ensure that characters are fully realized.Verify the quality of assets in the game, and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints, performance targets, and artistic direction.Supervise bug distribution and verify bug fixes.Create and maintain a transparent and reliable schedule that is well-coordinated with production.Ensure the timely completion of assets on style and at the desired quality bar.Mentor 3D Character Artists by providing creative and technical training, guidance, and feedback.Document and communicate workflow and best practices to support consistency across the Character Art Team.QualificationsHigh-quality portfolio of gamedev-relevant 3D Character Art, preferably with an emphasis on stylization.Able to interpret and follow concepts and reference material to create clean, detailed, and accurate 3D Character models.An excellent understanding of game mechanics related to characters, objects, and environments.Understanding of technical constraints for cross-platform production.Experience integrating 3D assets into industry-leading game engines such as Unity or Unreal.(Unity experience is a desired plus.)Experience with Marmoset Toolbag and 3D-Coat.High proficiency in modeling programs such as 3DSMAX, Maya, Blender, Zbrush, and texture/material authoring tools such as Photoshop and Substance.Excellent high and low poly modeling skills, as well as demonstrable skill with texture and shader creation within a PBR pipelineAttention to detail for both aesthetic and technical quality.Deep knowledge of human and animal anatomy.Mastery of form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regard to modeling.Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate with every department of a game development team.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on results and driving projects forward.Know when to delegate or do it yourself using your production knowledge.Strong organizational, supervisory, and mentoring skills.Commitment to the project and a desire to find the best possible way of inspiring others.Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.Educated on the latest trends and have a strong perspective on how they relate to our current and future projects.Additional InformationWhy Join the World of Gameloft?Because you want to be part of an exceptional experience within a company that is constantly growingBecause you want to work with talented people who are industry pioneersBecause you want to be part of an international environment with daily contact with other countries & culturesBecause you want to work in an inclusive equal opportunity workplaceOr, just because you’re looking for a great place to workPermanent contract, full-time job with excellent Social Benefits.25 vacation days per year + Birthday day off.Private medical health insurance.Flexible compensation with Ticket Restaurant Card.Free language courses.Flexible schedule + option to work a shortened schedule on three days.Flexible work-from-home hybrid model.Merit based salary progression system and a competitive initial salary package.Career-development opportunities.Excellent local working conditions (quality of offices, geographical location of office in the centre of Barcelona).... and Tuesday & Thursday afterwork beersWe can’t wait to find our next great talentJoin our team, recently recognized in Forbes' top 100 companies to work for We're gamers from all walks of life, united in creating a culture of inclusivity.
