Department: Regulatory Compliance Reports to: Regulatory Compliance Manager Ebury Madrid Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week Role Purpose: The Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Regulatory Compliance Manager in the day-to-day execution of the firm’s compliance framework. This role focuses on performing monitoring tests, conducting data-driven research, and ensuring all compliance logs and records are meticulously maintained. You will play a vital role in providing the data and assurance needed to ensure the business operates within regulatory boundaries. Key Responsibilities 1. Monitoring & Testing Execution Plan Execution: Conduct routine testing as defined in the Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP) to assess adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Transaction & Client Surveillance: Perform sample-based testing of client files and trade data to ensure compliance with conduct and safeguarding standards. Findings Documentation: Clearly document any issues or anomalies identified during monitoring and assist in drafting reports for the Manager. Action Tracking: Monitor the status of remediation actions to ensure that business units address identified risks within agreed timelines. 2. Regulatory Support & Administration Record keeping: Maintain high standards of record keeping for all compliance logs, including breaches, conflicts of interest, and personal account dealing. Research Assistance: Support the Manager in performing regulatory research and initial gap analyses for horizon scanning activities. Advisory Support: Act as a first point of contact for routine business queries, escalating more complex regulatory matters to the Manager. Audit Preparation: Assist in the collection of evidence and documentation for internal and external audits. 3. Reporting & Training Support Data Collection: Gather and organise data required for Management Information (MI) and regulatory reporting. Training Coordination: Assist in the preparation and distribution of compliance training materials to the wider business. Key Requirements Technical Expertise Experience: Experience in a compliance, risk, or audit-related role within financial services (experience in FinTech or Payments is a plus). Regulatory Awareness: A foundational understanding of the regulations affecting Electronic Money and Payment Services. Detail Orientation: Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Analytical Skills: Ability to work with datasets and identify patterns or inconsistencies. Core Attributes Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is essential. Agility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to collaborate with local and group compliance colleagues.
