Univrse is a Barcelona-based content creation VR studio developing Xroam, a solution that revolutionizes location-based VR experiences.Our multidisciplinary and international team combines the physical, digital, and virtual worlds to create fascinating experiences. We love to open new paths to find unconventional solutions in the field of XR technologies.Position OverviewWe are on the lookout for a Lead Developer (Unity) to join our dynamic team. You will be driving the development of our cutting-edge VR products, manage a team of talented developers, and be integral in shaping the technological vision of our projects. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for innovation.What will you do?Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Take ownership of the technical side of the immersive experiences we produce, designing scalable, robust, and high-performance solutions.Implement best practices for code quality, testing, integration, and delivery as well as documentation.Oversee the development lifecycle from concept through deployment, ensuring timely delivery of features.Collaborate closely with product managers regarding deadlines and resource management.Work together with artists and designers to ensure alignment and integration of all components.Oversee resource allocation and prioritize initiatives, balancing speed and quality to meet project demands.Stay current with industry trends and technologies, and drive innovation within the team.Must have hard skills6+ years of experience as a Unity developer, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.Expertise in developing XR applications, including knowledge of OpenXR, SteamVR, and OculusVR frameworks.Experience with working on a live product.Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.Experience with version control systems like GIT (Bitbucket).Demonstrated experience in developing multiplayer/networked applications, covering both server-side and client-side programming.Experience in reviewing other developers' code through Pull Requests or similar strategies.Soft SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading a team effectively.Proactive problem-solver with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Experience working in Agile development methodologies.A genuine passion for technological advancements in the XR industry.You will have a Big Plus if you are familiar with:Knowledge of Game Backend services.Experience with RESTful API integrations.Interest or experience in AI technologies.Familiarity with Unreal Engine.Familiarity with Live Development platforms like Unity Gaming Services or Firebase.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.Familiarity with Asset Management Strategies (Asset Bundles and Addressables).What do we offer?A young, international, and dynamic work environment that is constantly growing.The chance to work on cutting-edge experiences.Work with talented people who are industry pioneers.Opportunities to experiment with innovative technologies.A competitive salary based on knowledge and experience.Breakfast, fruit & snacks.Beach volleyball on Tuesdays (during the summer).Creative retreat with the whole team.Frequent cultural and leisure activities.
