You’ll design fault-tolerant systems that run at massive scale as we continue to innovate best-in-class services and applications in the AWS Cloud.This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.Key job responsibilitiesOur engineers collaborate across diverse teams, projects, and environments to have a firsthand impact on our global customer base. You’ll also:Solve challenging technical problems, often ones not solved before, at every layer of the stack.Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.Build high-quality, highly available, always-on products.Research implementations that deliver the best possible experiences for customers.A day in the lifeAs you design and code solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture, you’ll create metrics, implement automation and other improvements, and resolve the root cause of software defects. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience programming with at least one software programming languageCurrent, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with PolygraphPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentGreat written/verbal communication skills and teamwork.Excellent software development skills, preferably in Python, Javascript, Ruby, and/or Rust.Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development team with continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment and test driven development (TDD).Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to apply design patterns to common software problems that are maintainable at scale.Knowledge of and previous development experience in a Linux or UNIX environment with a good understanding of networking concepts.A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms and deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
