Job ID: 3103412 | Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon seeks a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join the Antenna Team. As an RF engineer you will develop requirements, review designs and build test capability for WiFi, GNSS and Bluetooth subsystems. In this role you will influence decision makers on the process, procedures and necessary tests required to achieve optimized RF designs. You will execute tests and provide leadership for other engineers and technicians during test campaigns. Key job responsibilities Perform link budget analysis, select appropriate RF ICs and passive components, review and optimize PCB schematics and layouts Use specialized test equipment to validate RF performance from the sub‑component to the system level Validate RF performance and troubleshoot RF issues from the sub‑component to the system level Collaborate with verification and validation engineers to create test plans that thoroughly validate designs and efficiently address system integration challenges Work cross‑functionally with other engineers to meet challenging form factor and industrial design requirements while preventing unintentional radiators from negatively impacting RF receiver sensitivity Collaborate with manufacturing test and operations teams to review RF test fixture design and setup so that device RF performance can be tested efficiently to the correct specifications at the factory Export Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience Experience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, and RF system analysis Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software tools (preferably Cadence tools) Experience with system integration risks and challenges posed by wireless technologies such as WiFi, GNSS, Bluetooth, and IEEE 802.15.4 Experience with troubleshooting capabilities for complex RF sub‑system issues, including TX/RX and throughput performance degradation Experience bringing up radio prototypes, developing, and running RF validation tests using specialized equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and LitePoint IQxel integrated testers Experience with DFM and high‑volume manufacturing test requirements for RF sub‑systems Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience with major router platforms Experience with network throughput optimization Experience with Qualcomm WiFi platforms Knowledge of design and testing requirements for compliance with FCC and ETSI regulatory standards for radio transmitters Experience with GNSS radio integration, development and testing At least five full product development cycles leading to the successful launch of a consumer product Strong written and verbal communication skills Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
