Join the global team of Crop BI as a Junior Data Engineer.Key Tasks & ResponsibilitiesDevelops and implements accurate, consistent, and secure data sets supporting key Business Intelligence Team internal metricsLeverages baseline understanding of defined Business Intelligence Team’s internal metrics to develop and manage tracking mechanisms.Develops and maintains the necessary data and documentation to understand the data elements, respective sources, expected range of answers.Works with BI Team members to maintain a data repository, regular reporting, and ad-hoc reporting for Business Intelligence Team internal metrics.Analyzes data for opportunities and coordinates data quality problem solving effortsMonitors existing, regular data validity mechanisms to detect data quality gaps.Leverages and coordinates expertise of system and database subject matter experts to solve data quality deficiencies.Understands and leverages common definitions of cross-functional and cross-brand metrics and calculations.Collaboratively builds business and data knowledge and solutionsWorks with IT Data Stewards and Data Support Teams to understand business rules behind available data to enable proper interpretation for metrics and problem-solving facilitation.Uses business acumen and functional stakeholder input to understand data needed for process enablement, to locate the needed data, and to translate to the right measures at the right granularity to answer the question being asked with appropriate presentation.Works both independently and collaboratively with a team of peers to fully satisfy stakeholder and team data needs.Creates and Delivers Change Management PlansBuilds strong working relationships with Supply Chain Management and Commercial data consumers to understand the link between data requests and business process decisions.Understands and leverages basic change management concepts and processes to develop change management plans designed to shorten acceptance and learning curves for new and changing business intelligence solutions.Uses interpersonal skills to deliver the planned communications and training to the target audiences for new and changed business intelligence solutions.Qualifications & CompetenciesMinimum Bachelor’s Degree; Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering degree preferred.1+ years of experience working with data (e.g., Finance, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics, Reporting), or a Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Intelligence, Data Science, Analytics); Ag Industry and/or supply chain knowledge strongly preferred.Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in the data arena. Preferred: experience working with data in relational databases using SQL or equivalent.Demonstrated technical competency of organizing and facilitating problem-solving in a group environment & demonstrated project coordination experience.Business acumen in the area of relating data to business process drivers and performance management. Tailors communication appropriately to both business and IT audiences.Collaborative team-focused delivery experience.Preferred: experience leveraging one or more tools in the Business Intelligence space (e.g., Tableau, SAP Business Objects Webi, Web FOCUS, QlikView, Microsoft BI, Microstrategy, Cognos, Alteryx, Paxata, Trifacta, Informatica, Talend, Ascential) or with data analysis/reporting using standard business tools (e.g., Advanced Excel, Advanced Microsoft Access).Required System SkillsProven experience as a BI Developer (Reporting and Data).Strong background in Reporting Tools: SAP Business Objects/Webi, Spotfire, Tableau, QlikView or equivalent (e.g., Power BI, Cognos, MicroStrategy).YOUR APPLICATIONThis is your opportunity to tackle the world’s biggest challenges with us: Maintaining our health, feeding growing populations, and slowing the rate of climate change.
