Accounting Manager

Overview We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team in Barcelona to lead financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience, particularly in international environments, and will be adaptable to a fast-changing and growing business. The successful candidate will be supporting the month-end close process, preparing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with internal policies and accounting standards. This position requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in English, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and availability to travel abroad. Experience with SOX compliance and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) is highly valuable. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and manage the RTR/AR team, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and compliance with internal controls. Act as escalation point for complex accounting, RTR, and AR-related topics. Prepare and ensure the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with Local GAAP and US GAAP. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies. Prepare and review journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and other general ledger transactions. Maintain the general ledger and ensure alignment with internal and external reporting requirements. Ensure accurate financial reporting by collaborating with other departments to capture and record month-end accruals properly. Perform and review account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies while maintaining accurate supporting documentation. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations. Oversee Accounts Receivable processes, including reconciliations, aging, and resolution of complex balances. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements by maintaining proper internal controls over financial reporting. Work closely with local advisors to support statutory compliance. Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors. Prepare and provide all necessary documentation to facilitate audits and ensure timely completion. Collaborate with external tax advisors to provide required data for accurate and timely tax filings. Monitor compliance with local tax regulations and maintain records for tax audits. Participate in process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the company to support financial reporting needs and strategic goals. Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Record to Report or general accounting roles. Proven experience managing and developing teams. Proficiency in English is required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) is highly valuable. Exposure to SOX compliance and understanding of internal controls is preferred. Prior experience in accounting roles of Irish entities is valuable. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
