The role must ensure that the sites are maintained in accordance with good engineering practice, statutory requirements, and EHS and GMP standards and approved budget.**Responsibilities**Team Supervision* Manage, recruit, and develop a team of qualified maintenance technicians* Provide inspirational leadership, mentorship, and training programs to ensure continuous professional growthMaintenance Planning* Develop strategic plans for preventive maintenance, aiming to minimize operational disruptions and extend the lifespan of equipment* Implement performance monitoring systems to predict and prevent failuresCoordination of Maintenance Activities* Coordinate resources to efficiently execute corrective maintenance activities* Promptly address issues and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence of failuresResource Management* Optimize the utilization of financial, human, and material resources allocated to the department* Negotiate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of critical parts and materialsCollaboration with Other Departments* Collaborate closely with production, quality, and safety managers to ensure mutual understanding of operational needs and achieve common goalsAdoption of Innovative Technologies* Identify and implement innovative technologies, such as predictive maintenance systems, to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costsBudget Management* Participate in defining the departmental budget and ensure adherence, constantly seeking opportunities to optimize expenses without compromising maintenance qualityWorkplace Safety* Oversee the implementation of workplace safety protocols and ensure that the team adheres to high safety standards during maintenance activities**Qualifications & Experience:**Education:* Bachelors level degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Industrial / Electrical / Chemical Engineering with a proven experience in machinery/mechanical subjects (e.g. rotating machineries, steam boilers, HVAC/R units, purified water systems, electrical systems)Experience:* Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing environmental and/or engineering operations of pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing facilities (fermentation & API experience is preferred)* Consolidated experience into an Engineering & Maintenance team in Italy is preferred, experience in more than 1 facility and functional area in a Pharmaceutical company is a strong plus* Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization, influence outside of direct reporting relationship and leverage network valueCore Competencies:* Fluent in Italian* Fluent in English* Advanced leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills* Knowledge of respective reliability techniques, practices, precedents, theory and principles.* Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise with drug product manufacturing and packaging equipment or utility systems and equipment (e.g. rotating machineries, boilers, HVAC/R units, purified water systems, HEPA filtration)* Advanced knowledge of SAP-PM* Demonstrated technical capabilities and understanding of maintenance work processes and the interfaces with other functional groups* Previous reliability / maintenance engineering experience preferred. Project management experience and/or equipment reliability principles knowledge preferred* Good communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization* Passionate about Operational Excellence (Continuous Improvement – Lean Manufacturing – 6 sigma – Visual Management – Standard Work – 5S and so on)* Understanding of the animal health regulatory requirements* Deep knowledge of current GMPs as well as environmental, health and safety regulations* Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsResults-oriented and able to work effectively in a dynamic environmentFull timeAt , our purpose is to nurture the world and humankind by advancing care for animals.
