Description The Capacity Planning Team provides Amazon Operations with cost-optimal and flexible capacity solutions for operational activities year-round, enabling the business to scale for seasonal peak demand increases. This role is based out of our corporate office. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact daily business, has a strong delivery record, and is experienced in driving execution in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, relish working with large amounts of data, and enjoy the challenge of solving highly complex, and sometimes ambiguous problems. Key job responsibilities Own capacity planning from day one, exercising sound judgment to ensure plans are realistic and achievable. Review performance metrics and analyze execution gaps, refining future forecasts. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align on resource requirements and implementation strategies. Dive deep into data analysis using SQL and Excel to extract meaningful patterns and trends that inform planning decisions. Present findings and recommendations to key business partners in regular stakeholder meetings. Continuously monitor planning accuracy, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions to enhance the planning process. Remain flexible and respond to changing business needs while maintaining focus on long-term strategic planning objectives. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, business analytics, information systems, or related field. Proficiency in MS Excel. Fluency in SQL. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Work experience in operations/supply chain/logistics. Knowledge of VBA. Exposure to capacity planning. Experience working with data warehouse systems. Experience working cross-functionally. Experience in complex problem solving and root cause analysis. Experience with supply chain management concepts.
