This ensures you will have access to the best and brightest minds in our industry to grow your experience and career within Emburse.What You'll Do8+ yrs of software development experience, preferably with Lead position experienceGo-to expert in one area of the codebase; understands the broad architectureUnderstanding OWASP and general understanding of PCI/DSS at a code level as neededTakes personal responsibility for quality and maintainability of the product and actively identifies areas for improvementIdentifies problems/risks of own work and othersMay have role in supervising others or leading moderately sized projectsPossesses empathy with the user of the software they are producing and uses that empathy to guide decision-makingSDLC processes are followed, including adopting agile-based processes/meetings, peer code-reviews, and technical preparations required for scheduled releases.Partners with product and analytics and drives requirements that take into account all parties' needsOwns the technical testing and performance plan for their projectsExpanded Code review responsibilities, including OWASP SSDLC assessmentStrong ability to mentor and guide junior developersDevelops sophisticated software without supervisionIdentifies and proactively tackles technical debt before it grows into debt that requires significant up-front work to resolveSets direction at the project/service level and consistently influences decision-makingDevelops large complex features and tackles difficult defectsProvides technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact other teams or the company at large. May explore, research, and propose new technologiesUnderstands all industry jargon and business concepts to better understand the challenges our technology is designed to solveIdentifies viable alternative solutions and presents themGives constructive feedback to team membersInteract directly with customers when neededWhat We're Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years’ experienceMinimum of 8 years’ professional experience in Java development. Experience working in OS X and Linux environments, Spring, AWS, Microservices, SQL, NoSQL, GIT. Experience working in a scrum and DevOps environment. Good understanding of agile application development lifecycleExperience Designing and building JSON or REST services, experience working with 3rd party APIs, AWS APIs, Docker or other containers, large-scale or distributed web applications, Test Driven Development and functional testingUnderstanding of various design patterns and OOP paradigmExperience in RESTful and security of API designKnowledge in at least 1 OOP language
