Reporting to the HR Manager Spain and following the Cluster and Group guidelines, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely monthly payroll process, while maintaining compliance with internal policies, deadlines, and budget constraints.
This role will act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll, taxes, compensation, and benefits-related inquiries. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will oversee three key areas: payroll processing, compensation & benefits, and employment cost & budget management.
WHAT WILL YOU DOPayroll Management- Collect and validate working hours and payroll data for each employee.
- Ensure accurate salary calculations, incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc., using payroll systems.
- Collaborate with the external payroll provider to guarantee correct payroll execution.
- Manage and monitor the payroll approval workflow.
- Prepare and execute payroll payments through electronic systems.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related taxes and employee benefit payments.
- Work closely with the Performance & Rewards Manager to define and maintain a fair, competitive, and legally compliant compensation and benefits structure aligned with Pandora's business goals.
- Ensure that salary structures and benefits comply with Spanish regulations (pay equity, tax requirements, etc.).
- Benchmark Pandora's compensation practices against market trends by participating in salary and labor market surveys.
- Develop and manage an efficient budget to ensure proper workforce coverage across different locations.
- Forecast payroll and employment cost needs based on business requirements.
- Identify and analyze variances between actual and budgeted employment costs at the end of each reporting period.
- 5+ years of experience as a Payroll Specialist, preferably within an international organization.
- Expertise in Spanish payroll processes and a solid understanding of Spanish labor laws and tax regulations.
- Experience working with external payroll providers and payroll management systems.
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken). Portuguese and/or French are an asset.
