Software Development Engineer - Amazon Robotics, Resource ManagementAmazon Robotics develops state-of-the-art robotics for Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers. Amazon Fulfillment handles more individual items than any company in the world. We are combining computer vision and custom robots to solve real-world problems at a huge scale. Our team collaborates with a variety of customers across Amazon worldwide to conceive, develop, prototype, and deploy a wide range of robotic systems.We are seeking talented, enthusiastic, motivated Engineers to design, develop, integrate, troubleshoot, optimize, test, and lead the development of software that controls and optimizes robotic fulfillment centers at a very large scale. They will act as a key contributor to our product development roadmap and help develop software features, tools, and mechanisms to operate large robotic fleets (10,000s).You will have opportunities to collaborate and work with research scientists, applied scientists, data scientists, and cross-functional teams on cutting-edge solutions for an ever-growing robotic fleet.Key Job ResponsibilitiesArchitect, design, and implement robotic applications and infrastructure.Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.Work with stakeholders across the organization to iterate on design and implementation.Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.Prototype and test concepts or features, both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment.Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.Mentor other engineering team members.A Day in the LifeAmazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. You will lead and support the design and development of services that assign work, maintain healthy charge levels, and manage the storage of Amazon products within its robotics solution. Our team’s software is at the heart of ensuring Amazon’s retail customers get their packages on time.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.Experience programming with at least one software programming language.3+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.Strong background or familiarity with algorithms and system design used to solve complex problems for highly-scalable systems.Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading/supporting an engineering team.Strong communication skills, ability to support and collaborate work well in a team environment.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.5+ years professional experience preferred with a strong background with algorithms used to solve complex problems for highly-scalable systems.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
