Senior Software Engineer

Job Purpose: The role of this job is to design, build and maintain high-quality technology solutions that deliver an exceptional customer experience. The role requires passion, knowledge, and experience working with Ruby on Rails, HTML and CSS, JavaScript as well as knowledge of modern frameworks and technologies and able to work with legacy technologies as well. Knowledge of development for cross browsers and devices. The ability to work with the team and collaborate with the stakeholders and pay attention to detail is a must.Job Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Create new features or parts of internal/user-facing applications, with the end user in mind, providing for the best customer experience.Assist in building component-based architectures for supporting applications including developing components and libraries that are reusable and future-proofKnowledge in using UI/UX designs or wireframes to create the respective code and the application for multiple browsersKnowledge and understanding of Javascript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue.js, Ember.js etc. is a bonusAssure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-endWork with a team of developers in determining and executing best practices through peer review, pull requests, and regular collaborationStay up-to-date on emerging technologiesNon-Essential Functions: Problem Solving skills with the ability to analyze and review codeWorking with teams and communication skillsAligning to structured process and operational guidelinesLearn new concepts, techniques and technology from more senior team membersRequirements: Proven knowledge and experience in web technologies, languages, protocols, tactics, and toolsRuby on Rails, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS required, including responsive design experienceKnowledge CSS preprocessors like Sass and LESSJavaScript skills with knowledge of or actively learning ECMAScript 5 and upwaExperience or working knowledge of Figma is a plusUnderstanding of cross browser/device testingRequired Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of IT or computer science education.Strong experience authoring, maintaining, and developing in a web environment.Familiar with Agile (Scrum) Software Development Process and methodologiesExpected Competencies: Detailed oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to pay attention to programming style and develop clean codeStrong English communication skills, both written and verbalA motivation to stay current in new web trends and technologiesWork Timings: This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.
