The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.LugarBarcelona, Campus MarWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORISGlobal is seeking a Research Technician who is interested in supporting activities in a project on urban re-naturalization in a municipality of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. The project aims to improve the connectivity and biodiversity of the green infrastructure, the resilience of the municipality in the face of climate change, and the health and well-being of its inhabitants, contributing to the achievement of the 3-30-300 green space rule. All this under the basis of a collaborative and equitable governance.The Research Technician will be working closely with the project leader and task coordinator. The Research Technician will give support through diverse activities across a citizen-science process, including the research project design, the environmental and health monitoring and statistical analysis, to evaluate the re-naturalization of a public space for a more resilient, healthy and sustainable neighbourhood.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONSUndergraduate degree in environmental, biological sciences or psychology is preferredExperience in developing fieldwork, fieldwork coordination support, data collection and descriptive analysisExperience with questionnaires administrationExperience with systematic observation tools, participatory process and qualitative methods will be an assetKEY RESPONSABILITIESSupport all aspects of the research projectWork with the project coordinator to ensure timely accomplishment of project’s objectives and deliverablesSPECIFIC DUTIESAssist in organizing workshops with citizensAssist in the dynamization of workshops and sessions with citizensAssist in monitoring environmental and health dataAssist in data analysis and presentationAssist in literature searches and compilation of reportsParticipate in the writing of the project results reportParticipate in drafting scientific manuscriptsAssist in the design and preparation of presentationsProvide general administrative support including scheduling and preparation of events and meetingsAttend meetings with project partners including taking of meeting minutesOther duties as assignedSKILLSAbility to work independently and as a team memberProblem resolutionLearning capacityMeticulous attention to detailFlexibilityQuantitative data management and analysis skills are highly valuedProficient in Microsoft Office softwareLANGUAGE LEVELGood level Spanish, Catalan and English are requiredCONDITIONSDuration: 1 yearStarting date: January 2024Contract: Part-time (50%-80%)Salary Range: According to internal salary scaleApplicants must fill in the request form and include the following code reference position: ResearchTechnician_VILADECANS_Dec24, attach the CV and a Cover Letter. To assess the person's skills and CV.Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview.
