As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you’ll be a key driver of this mission, designing and scaling the platform that powers thousands of workflows and data models. You’ll shape our AI Assistant, APIs, workflow engine, permissions, security model, and integrations, ensuring performance, reliability, and a great product experience for customers.We pride ourselves on a culture of autonomy, speed, and craft. This is a unique opportunity to own core backend services in a fast-growing SaaS company and help shape the future of how software is made.ResponsibilitiesBuilding the backend for various user-facing featuresOptimise client APIs and servicesImprove database and infrastructure performance by implementing caching solutions and optimising data queriesImprove observability, monitoring, and alerting for our serviceScale our service via architectural changes and infrastructure improvementsAdding more tools / logic to our AI Assistant to let users interact with the Noloco platform through a chat-based assistantImprove native data tables by adding support for new field types or performance improvementsLead integrations with additional data sources like databases and other software toolsExtending Noloco's workflows and automations to integrate other tools and automate workflowsScaling the platform to meet customer growthMonitoring API / infrastructure performanceQualifications4+ years of experience in engineering scalable, multi-tenant environmentsExperience in AWS ECS, Docker, LambdaExceptional JavaScript / Node.js skillsExperience in React.js / GraphQL is a plusDeep understanding of data design and modelingBuilt and worked on complex web applicationsTech StackNode (TypeScript), Postgres, MongoDB and RedisInternal NodeJS GraphQL & REST APIsDynamic GraphQL APIs that have access to each app's dataData synchronization systems for syncing customer data with 3rd party data sourcesHosted on AWS with ECS & LambdaMonitored via Grafana & SentryGitHub, Linear, SlackWhat We OfferInteresting and challenging workWork-life balanceCompetitive salary and equityEmployee-friendly equity terms (extended exercise)Work remotely, hybrid or in-office, your choiceHealth Insurance & Wellness allowanceRegular team events and off-sites5 weeks of paid vacationAny equipment you need to work from home or officeWhere You’ll Work Remote in Ireland, or hybrid from Barcelona.
