The Sibelco Group operates over 110 production sites in 31 countries, with a team of over 5,000 people.Location: Bilbao HQ OfficeAs Manager Digital Automation, you will execute the annual digitalization projects that emanate from the digital transformation strategy of the organization. You will be a project team member and, on some occasions, assume responsibility for managing some of our digitalization and automation projects to deliver on time, budget, and projected performance.Responsibilities:Lead and/or execute digitalization initiatives to enhance Operational Efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Operational Excellence and Engineering) to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization based on digitalization.Report metrics to measure the effectiveness of digital initiatives and track progress against established KPIs (Adoption Rate).Support site engineers in analysing data to drive insights and continuous improvements.Train operations workforce in using digital and automation systems.Support Operational Excellence function in driving the change management associated with the digital transformation.Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resources for the Digitalization and automation CAPEX projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and delivering at the projected performance.Manage relationships with vendors and technology partners to ensure that the organization is getting the most value from its digital investments.Competencies (Reference: Sibelco (Leadership) Competency Model):Decision Making: Capacity to influence others to get results without authority or hierarchical link.Optimises Work Processes.Drive Results.Communicates Effectively: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaboration.Manage change and ambiguity: Availability to travel across more than 30 countries across the 5 continents.(Technical) Capabilities:Problem Solving skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Negotiation skills.Project Management: Experience with project management, budgeting, and resource planning.Data management: Proficiency in automation technologies, including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and MES systems.Behavioural skills: Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Educational Background and prior professional experience:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, computer sciences or a related field.3+ years of experience in automation and control systems in the minerals processing industry, and mining industry, with a focus on manufacturing execution systems, operational reporting, and process optimization.Desirably some years of experience in operations as a site, production, maintenance manager or process engineer with a track record of delivering operational improvements and cost savings by applying Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies.Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies will be valued for this job.Languages requirements:Fluent in English.Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin will be taken into consideration in the evaluation of the candidate.But most importantly, if you embrace our core values, and if this role sparks your enthusiasm to apply your passion to contribute in a meaningful way as a part of Sibelco’s team of unique talents within a diverse international business community, then we very much look forward to hearing from you.To Apply:Please click apply to register your information and contact details on the recruitment portal so one of our team can get in touch.Inclusive Team Culture: Sibelco recognises the strength of our diverse global workforce and values difference and inclusion for all.
