As a global leader in engineering with over 20,000 employees worldwide, we create and develop highly specialized technical tools for several applications, such as industrial automation, chemical depuration, food and beverage processing, 3D modeling, etc. Due to our strong growth, we are currently recruiting for Software Developers for our recently established Digital Hub in Barcelona.
Working in the Digital Hub, you will act as a catalyst of change leading key digital transformation projects across the company. As part of the hub, you will be involved in driving key strategic initiatives within eCommerce, product configuration, Analytics, and Digital Sales.
To achieve its goals, the Digital Hub is led by startup veterans that are creating a startup culture unit under the umbrella of this billion-dollar corporation. Working in this environment, you will be part of a dynamic mix of Festo Spain, the Digital Sales Hub, and Global IT, collaborating across these areas to drive innovation and digital transformation within the company.

What we are looking for:
The incoming Back-end Developer will have the opportunity to work with a state-of-the-art technology stack – Spring, Gitlab, Kubernetes, Azure Blobstorage, ApiGee, Solr, among others – in an informal, agile, and technology-focused work environment. You will be given ownership over your work and will be at the forefront of technical design and decision making.
Role Description:
- Developing and maintaining the backend side of our constantly evolving eCommerce web platform for supporting our online catalog and processing our customers' transactions in over 55 countries worldwide.
- Create automated software tests and documentation.
- Coordinate and align requirements with the product owners and the stakeholders.
- Support and collaborate with a distributed agile team (Spain, Germany, and Lithuania).
Requirements:
- Degree in information technology or similar.
- 3+ years of related professional experience.
- Practical experience coding monolithic backend and REST APIs with Java and Spring.
- Ability to work in an international and diverse team with good communication skills.
- Independent and structured way of working with holistic thinking.
- Good written and spoken English skills, as you will need to speak English daily, including technical vocabulary and the ability to express complex circumstances.
- Spanish, German, and Lithuanian language skills are valued but not required.
- Project experience with current frameworks and technologies such as SAP Commerce Cloud, Resilience4J, SwaggerUI, GraphQL, Docker, and GitLab is a really nice plus
